Today’s prompt – Emoji inspired
When I saw this prompt my Husband suggested a smiley face pizza or simply using potato smiles but I thought I’d do something a bit more adventurous!
I chose the paella emoji as I have never made it and the last time I had it was at my Mum’s wedding in May.
Now obviously we need a veggie paella emoji to save those little prawns and mussels!
I used this recipe from BBC Good Food with a few tweaks. I halved the recipe, but added a few more tomatoes as I had some that needed using up. I also subbed the saffron for tumeric (cos £££!) and I added a couple of sausages which I also needed to use up.
How gorgeous is that! The other great thing is that usually have all these ingredients in so easy when I need a tasty meal just before shopping day!
Do you have any tips for cooking paella? Let me know in the comments below.

That looks delicious! I don’t think I’ve ever made paella, but clearly I should give it a try. Totally with you on using turmeric instead of saffron!

It was easy but it did take a while for the rice to soak up all the liquid.

This looks so tasty and you have reminded me that it is far too long since I have made a paella! I like to put the V BItes choritzo chunks in it.

Thank you! I never realised it had seafood in it as it’s so small!
